Training MMA when you come from Arouca: is it worth it?
From Arouca to Arrifana: a trip plenty already make
Every week there are students who leave Arouca and drive to Badazz Station in Arrifana to train. It is not for a lack of closer gyms. It is for one simple reason: once you find a place where you genuinely improve, the distance stops being the problem.
If you live in Arouca and you are thinking about starting MMA or martial arts, there is an honest question you will want answered first: is the trip really worth it? Let us be straight with you.
How long it actually takes
From Arouca to Arrifana it is around 30 to 45 minutes by car, depending on where you start and the traffic. Sounds like a lot? Think of it as the length of one episode of a series. The difference is that you leave here stronger, sharper and sleeping better.
Many of our members train at the end of the workday and get home already unwound. Others share rides between them. You sort the trip out once, and after that it becomes routine.
What you get by training at Badazz
- Training for every level, from the absolute beginner to the competitor. Nobody gets thrown in at the deep end.
- Several disciplines under one roof: MMA, Wrestling, Kickboxing, Muay Thai and Luta Livre.
- Coaches who compete and build competitors, led by Peter Ligier.
- A community that pushes you. "Brotherhood Beyond Limits" is not just a line on the wall.
"But I have never trained martial arts"
Even better. Most people who walk through the Badazz door have never thrown a real punch in their life. The first month is not about being good, it is about showing up. Technique comes after, and it comes faster than you think when you train in the right place with people who know how to correct you.
